Yes, our applications are designed as modular structure to allow for
future customization. Level 1 customization includes modifying
logos and introduction video. Level 2 customization includes
modifying the application contents (for example, adding your
contingency plan or specific equipment that is used by your
organization.

What is the certificate received after the completion of the
program? |

At present the only certificate
provided is the completion of the program. We are in the process of
exploring with a number of international organizations the potential
of offering other certificates.
In addition, we
are working with Capilano College to offer a Certificate in Oil
Spill Management.

How long does it take to complete the Basics of Oil Spill Response

The complete course requires approximately six hours. The
application tracks the modules that were completed, the user can
take the course at one session or can progress on a step-by-step
basis through the individual modules and spread the training over a
period of time.

No, our training applications are designed to augment both classroom
and field training. Our clients found the best use of IOSTC
training applications is as an introductory or refresher training
tool. Some are using our programs as a training tool during
classroom training and during briefing prior to any oil spill
response activities.

Yes, our training applications are designed to operate on standalone
computers or as an Intranet; however, each terminal will require a
user license.

What is the
required system configuration? |

The hardware configuration is a Personal Computer with 100 MB free
hard disk, minimum of 256 MB RAM, Pentium Processor and sound card.
Our training applications work under any Microsoft Windows operating
systems. IOSTC training applications were tested on Win95, Win98,
Win ME, Win NT, Win2000 Professional, Win XP Home, Win XP
Professional and Windows 2003 Server operating systems. Internet
access is required to register the training applications.

Are IOSTC training applications compatible with learning management
systems? |

Yes, IOSTC training applications have strong standards support (e.g.
SCORM, AICC). You can easily launch and track content with a
standards-compliant learning management system (LMS). The
applications are also designed for simple integration with custom
built learning management systems. IOSTC could also assist you to
develop your own LMS system.
